Laser Bridges

Laser bridges are good and affordable options when you are missing on one tooth or a set of teeth. Laser bridges are made up of the crowns, bridges and false teeth. Crowns are set up for the teeth or implanted teeth on both sides of the missing teeth. These crowns are used as foundation for the laser bridges, where false teeth are set up in. Once set up, the false teeth fill in the gap. The condition here is that the crowns should be placed on healthy teeth. Otherwise, this set of teeth has root canal treatment prior to setting up their crowns. In any case, parts of these teeth are removed when fitting in crowns.

Types of laser bridges

There are several types of laser bridges. You will need to choose the laser bridges that suits you in terms of comfort, need and costs.

1. Traditional: The traditional dental bridge is made of ceramics. This can also be made of porcelain on metal.

2. Cantilever: This type of bridge is used when only one side of the missing teeth has adjacent teeth. This means only one side of the bridge can be supported.

3. Maryland bonded: This type is also called the Maryland bridge or the resin-bonded bridge. The difference with this type of bridge is that the metal frame has wings, which are then set on the back of the adjacent teeth. These wings are fused into the teeth using laser treatment.

It often takes to dentist visits to get laser bridges. On the first visit, impressions are made of the adjacent teeth. The laser bridges are only set up on the second visit.
